The service

Bluetop provides Alex, an AI assistant that drafts civil engineering compliance documents (currently California Construction General Permit SWPPPs) and assists with related questions, over email and Microsoft Teams.

Drafts, not engineering of record

Everything Alex produces is a draft for review. Alex is not a licensed engineer, is never the engineer of record, and does not certify compliance. Your firm's licensed PE/QSD must review, edit, certify, and stamp every document before it is used or filed. You are responsible for verifying all extracted values against your source documents; Alex flags what needs review and cites pages, but professional judgment stays with your licensed staff.

Acceptable use

Use the service only for your firm's legitimate business, with documents you have the right to share. Do not submit another party's confidential materials without authorization.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as-is during the pilot period; we may modify features as the product develops. We will give reasonable notice of material changes.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bluetop's liability arising from the service is limited to the fees paid for it. Nothing in these terms transfers professional responsibility for engineering work products away from your firm's licensed professionals.
